Faces of AntiqueMalls.com-Dot

Hi, I'm Dot.  I'm Dan's wife and Micky's mom.  I was raised in the Pacific Northwest, but have lived most of my life in the South.  I have been a collector of things most of my life.  I started out collecting rocks and stamps as long back as I can remember--and believe it or not, I still collect both of these things!  You know how one thing leads to another...When I was in the fifth grade, we had pen pals with our sister city in Japan.  Would you believe I still have all of her letters (we corresponded for two years) and the present she had sent me back in 1967?  Whenever I am in an antique mall I love to look for ephemera.  I have found love letters from a soldier in WWII and older Western Union notes.  I LOVE IT! I have collections of books as well since I'm a big reader.  I have found some great buys on up-to-date books at antique malls and of course ones I've been looking a long time for, but haven't found anywhere else. The world of collecting stamps brought me to collecting First Day Covers.....

Faces of AntiqueMalls.com-Dan

Hey I'm Dan, founder of EstateSales.NET, which later became Vintage Software.  Vintage Software is the company that owns and runs the websites EstateSales.NET , AntiqueMalls.com, and EarlyBirds.com .  I feel I am one of the luckiest people around; to have a "job" that is what you really love to do is the best thing that can happen to you.  On top of that, being a family company where you work with your wife and son makes this the best job ever--and the fact that we have a great group of people working here really helps. I used to be one of those people who would get in line at an estate sale many hours before the sale would open, only hoping I was at the "right" sale that week.  Then one day I thought it would be great to know what was in each sale so I would know I was in the right line for me.  That is how the idea came about for this business. Back then I was buying all the vintage appliances I could get my hands on, then I would restore them and sell them on eBay...

Faces of AntiqueMalls.com-Robert

Hello there!  My name is Robert and I'm the newest addition to the Vintage Software Customer Support staff.  I moved to Cape Girardeau two years ago to be with my lovely girlfriend and I've started working on my Baccalaureate in computer sciences at Southeast Missouri State University this spring semester. I've spent lots of time pursuing endeavors in creative writing and music, which is in polar opposition to my chosen career field.  I have been in and around the St. Francois county local music community for some time until I started to lose interest and move my priorities elsewhere. When I'm not in classes or here at work, I'm usually with family in Farmington or at home buzzing about with weekend tasks.  I try to play a little Skyrim when I can. Working in the offices here at Vintage Software has honestly been the best employement experience of my life...

Faces of AntiqueMalls.com-Cindy

Hi I’m Cindy and I’m the marketing/social media/brand management girl here at Vintage Software. If you’re ever reading something on Facebook, Twitter or Google+ from AntiqueMalls.com, it probably came from me. I was born and raised in Missouri, but moved a little further south to attend college and decided to stay when I was offered this great job! I am definitely a marketing nerd to the core. I get excited when I see a new piece of advertising or a creative product placement in a movie or TV show (Have you ever noticed Michael Scott on The Office ALWAYS wants to eat at Chili's? I bet you will now!) YES, I am one of “those people” who only watches the Super Bowl for the new commercials. To me, marketing is art and I love to watch talented artists play. The items I find most interesting in antique malls are vintage advertisements. It amazes me how much styles, media outlets and even regulations have changed in the marketing industry. When I’m not cranking out status updates, I love being with my family, scrapbooking, baking, and of course shopping...

Faces of AntiqueMalls.com-Cassidie

My name is Cassidie and I have been working as a programming intern since May 2011.  I really enjoy working for Vintage Software because I have a great boss and awesome co-workers!  How often do you hear of someone actually enjoying work?  I look forward to finishing my Computer Information Systems degree at Southeast Missouri State University shortly so I can become a full time employee. I like riding bikes and taking long walks on the beach--just kidding!  I like video games (Mortal Kombat is the best!) and online karaoke.  I enjoy learning languages.  I currently speak English and Spanish.  I hope to add a few more to my repertoire (See? I'm already starting!).  Also, I have to say I'm a pretty big cat lover, but I'm married, so I can't be called the "Crazy Cat Lady."  Food is good, too.  I love beef jerky and being that I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Skyline is the best chili around!

Faces of AntiqueMalls.com-Katie

Hi there, my name is Katie. Anytime you might need help navigating the site, or have an "Uh-oh!" moment, I'm the gal on the other end of the line when the need arises. I'm a native of Missouri, but could never resist the opportunity to explore other cities and states while I had the chance. After having lived in Charlottesville, Atlanta, Chicago, and later becoming an army wife stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, I eventually made my way back to Missouri with my husband and daughter. When I'm not masquerading as a walking Kleenex and personal butler to a two year old, any free time I have is spent; conquering new recipes, snapping photos here and there, and treating my cast iron skillet like it's the holy grail (thanks to St. Mary's Antique Mall in Saint Mary, MO for the great find!). Also, I love conspiracy therories - the more outlandish the better! So if we get a chance to chat and you have a good one, share away!

Faces of AntiqueMalls.com-Steve

Hi, I'm Steve. I am one of the programmers here at Vintage. When you leave feedback about what features you would like to see on AntiqueMalls.com, I'm part of the team that tries to make those ideas a reality. In 2010 I graduated from college with a B.S. in computer science. Three days after graduating I started working for Vintage as an intern and came aboard full time shortly thereafter. The atmosphere at Vintage Software, a small but rapidly growing business, makes working here very exciting. In addition to working at Vintage Software I am also a full time student. I am expecting to graduate with an M.S. in computer science this December. When I'm not working or studying I enjoy watching movies, playing video games, and reading. In programming AntiqueMalls.com, I have been surprised by the number of antique malls there are throughout the country. Using the trip planning feature on the site to plan a 100 mile trip from work to my hometown of St. Louis, MO shows 39 malls along the route and around the St. Louis area...

Faces of AntiqueMalls.com-Rob

I'm Rob, a programmer/developer here at Vintage. I started here as an intern in May of 2010 and accepted a full time position when I graduated Southeast Missouri State University in December of that same year, with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. I got into the field of programming in my mid-thirties, when I returned to college as a non-traditional student (read: old guy), but have always enjoyed working with computers and am glad to be employed at a small company with a high focus on employee development. A feature I'm looking forward to helping develop on AntiqueMalls.com is the ability to buy and sell Antiques directly on the site from participating Antique Malls. I'm not much of a shopper, and although I'm aware I'm probably in the minority in this, if I'm looking for something I'd much rather enter it in a search bar and let the computer find it for me than look for it myself. There have to be a few people out there that feel the same way. When not at work I enjoy cooking, video games, and following professional football. I'm also a bit of a movie buff...

Faces of AntiqueMalls.com-Lilly

Hey! I’m Lillian, the graphic designer at Vintage Software. I started working here in May of 2010, and it has been a blast working for this company! I’ve lived in Cape Girardeau, Missouri most of my life, but before that I lived in Lincoln, Nebraska. I was a huge Cornhuskers fan back in the day. I’m currently a student at Southeast Missouri State University working on a BFA in Graphic Design. During the semester I enjoy drawing, painting, sculpting, and (soon) weaving. When I am on break, I also spend time practicing guitar, playing video games, and going to the shooting range. I also love to travel and learn different languages. Many things have appeared in my office lately, including Sir Cuts-A-Lot. He’s a tin suit of armor we picked up at an antique mall. He adds quite a bit of character to the place. We have all sorts of interesting things here at the office. I must admit, I haven’t been to many antique malls around the area, but I love exploring the local antique and craft shops in downtown Cape. Random Question: Who is a famous person that shares your birthday? Buddy Holly
